Classical? Or, practical? Or … ?

"Health is the freedom to move through the different circumstances in which you find yourself
and illness is the loss of that freedom.

Though all are based on the same basic premise of "Like Cures Like,"
there are many ways of addressing the same issue, homeopathically speaking.
Below are a few very quick explanations of various methodologies
Classically Practical Homeopathy offers.

Classical homeopathy was founded by Samuel Hahnemann, a German "physician, chemist, linguist, historian of medicine and scientific revolutionary" in the late 1700s (O'Reilly). This methodology involves an in-depth consultation, covering all aspects of the individual: the emotional/psychological state and symptoms, the physical symptoms, medical and family history and culminates in a single remedy to address all of these incorporated elements.

Non-classical homeopathy, sometimes referred to as "practical homeopathy," or "clinical homeopathy" results from all the years of experience of practicing homeopaths from around the world. This methodology still relies on "like cures like" but it cuts to the chase, removing the sometimes long, sometimes tedious process of classical homeopathy. Additionally, practical homeopathy often utilizes multiple remedies to directly address multiple concerns simultaneously.

Banerji protocols "are a new system of medicine, in which Specific Homeopathic Medicines are prescribed for Specific Diagnosis of Disease without considering the individual person," and are based on "the vast experience of four generations of a family involved in the practice of homeopathy since 1863, but also on research conducted by institutes of international repute, testifying to their effectiveness and scientific acceptance" (Banerji, 2013).

Cell salts were discovered by Dr. W.H. Schuessler of Germany in the late 1870s. By "analyzing blood from humans as well as the ashes after death" and devised the cell salts or tissue salts. Dr. Schuessler "studied the various symptoms and discovered which minerals were lacking in his patients. When the correct minerals were supplied, the abnormal or diseased symptoms decreased or disappeared, if they were curable at all" (Weintraub, 1996). Homeopathic cell salts are made from the minerals that cells require and bring balance to body tissues and cell function.

Acute/first aid. The appropriate homeopathic remedy, taken as soon as practicable following an injury or the onset of illness, can often set things right in very short order, lessening the severity and/or duration of symptoms.

Chronic illness/chronic pain. Homeopathy really shines when an individual has found no other answers for their chronic pain. It can often relieve symptoms and improve quality of life where other modalities of medicine fell short. Homeopathy can safely be used in conjunction with other medicines and treatments. We at Classically Practical Homeopathy will never interfere with your current treatment and would never suggest stopping or altering your medications … that is between you and your physician. We only seek to support your well-being by addressing those symptoms which homeopathy is capable of addressing.

Seeking medical diagnoses. It is very important that you seek medical care for serious and life-threatening conditions. I am not a physician and you may not rely on me for medical advice. You may experience a relief of your symptoms, but that should not stop you from seeking medical treatment.

Regardless of the chosen methodology, homeopathy does not treat disease. Homeopathy addresses the symptoms the individual is displaying and seeks to create balance in all aspects of the individual.
